AMTK #69 leads the SB "Texas Eagle," Train 21 into Malvern, AR. With a low temperature of around 7 degrees overnight, UP was plagued with broken rails and delays. Train #21 arrived at Little Rock at 10:07AM (8 hours 19 min. late.) According to Amtrak, due to switch issues and freight train interference. Amtrak's tracker showed Train #21 staying at Little Rock for 1 hour and 22 min., leaving at 11:29AM. Another broken rail near Malvern was probably the cause for the long stop at Little Rock. After repairs were completed near Malvern, Train #21 would arrive at Malvern at 12:49PM. (8 hours 54 min. late.) There must not have been much of a passenger exchange, if any, at Malvern as #21 departed less than 1 min after arrival, also at 12:49PM. |
